The Saskatoon Lions Speed Skating Club (SLSSC) is pleased to announce our upcoming events for the 2026-2027 season. Whether you are an experienced skater or new to the sport, we invite you to join us on the ice.

Prairie Opener - Short Track Meet

October 24-25, 2026

Start the season at our annual Prairie Opener Short Track Meet in Martensville. This event welcomes skaters of all ages and ability levels and offers an opportunity to experience speed skating competition in a fun and supportive environment. Participants can test their skills, gain race experience, and connect with other skaters from across the region.

John Sands Long Track Meet

January 16-17, 2027

The John Sands Long Track Meet is one of our key competitions of the season, bringing together skaters from across the Prairies. Held on the outdoor long track, this event provides athletes with the opportunity to compete, develop their racing skills, and take part in a long-standing speed skating tradition.

Canadian Youth Short Track - West

March 19-21, 2027

SLSSC is proud to host the Canadian Youth Short Track - West championship. This event brings together young athletes from across Western Canada to compete at a higher level and gain valuable racing experience. It is an excellent opportunity for developing skaters to challenge themselves and connect with peers from other clubs.
